St. Albert Public Library is a FamilySearch Affiliate Library, enabling those doing genealogical research in the Downtown Library on public computers or personal devices using the library's wifi network to have access to protected online resources on the FamilySearch website that are only accessible from within the library.

Beginning April 30, 2026, users will be required to sign in to access the FamilySearch Catalog. This update is being implemented as part of ongoing efforts to improve website security and ensure appropriate access to records.
