Public Internet Access Policy
The Library has no control over the information accessed through the Internet and is not responsible for its content. The Internet provides resources for all age levels and reflects many points of view. Patrons should be aware that not all sources give accurate, complete or age-appropriate information.
Parents or guardians of minors are responsible for monitoring their children while they use the Internet. The library provides one filtered workstation in the Children’s department. The Children's section of the website has safe, librarian-selected Internet resources.
The adult Internet workstations do not have content filters and all members of the public, including children, have access to them.
St. Albert Public Library is not responsible for any patron misuse of copyrighted materials or violation of software licensing agreements. Illegal use of the Internet may constitute a criminal offence for which the patron will bear sole responsibility.
The St. Albert Public Library supports the Canadian Library Association's Statement on Intellectual Freedom.
The cost of printing Internet pages is 20 cents per page. Users are responsible for any commercial transactions made while using the Library's Internet connection.
